That\u2019s why our goal is to provide you with the&nbsp;<strong>clearest and most up-to-date information<\/strong>&nbsp;so you can make informed decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1f4c5.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64480\" style=\"width:24px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong> What is the Alien Registration and why is it required before May 11?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. government, through USCIS, has established that certain foreign nationals must officially register if they have been in the country for more than 30 days and have not been previously registered. This is part of an effort to update biographical data and comply with immigration laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration must be completed before May 11, 2025,<\/strong>&nbsp;although the exact deadline has not been officially confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/274c.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64440\" style=\"width:23px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong> Who does NOT need to register?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some groups are clearly exempt from this new requirement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U.S. citizens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People who have been in the U.S. for less than 30 days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-64444\" style=\"width:24px;height:auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/2705.svg\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><strong>&nbsp;<strong>Who SHOULD register\u2026 but are already registered?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These individuals do not need to take further action because they were previously registered through other processes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Permanent residents (Green Card holders)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individuals with any form of Parole (even if expired), including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list mt-4\">\n<li>Humanitarian Parole<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advance Parole<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MILPIP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individuals who received an I-94 (paper or electronic), even if expired<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who entered with a valid visa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People in removal proceedings (even if the case has concluded)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EAD (work permit) holders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Border Crossing Card holders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Those who have already completed biometrics for any of the following forms:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list mt-4\">\n<li>&nbsp;I-485<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;I-687<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;I-691<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;I-698<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I-700<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/26a0.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64450\" style=\"width:24px;height:auto\"><\/figure><strong>&nbsp;Who MUST register<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t fall under any of the categories above, the government expects you to register. Many of our current and potential clients fall into this group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below we share a general classification of this situation. We emphasize: every case is unique, and the best decision depends on your specific immigration situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-64448\" style=\"width:23px;height:auto\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1f539.svg\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><strong>&nbsp;<strong>Relatively low risk<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>These individuals have generally started a formal process and have not yet completed biometrics. While we do not give specific recommendations, these cases seem to carry lower risk when registering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>People with a pending Adjustment of Status (AOS) without biometrics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals with a pending I-918<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals with a pending or approved I-601A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1f538.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64448\" style=\"width:24px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong>Moderate risk<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re about to begin an AOS, I-918, or I-601A application, it is essential that you consult with your attorney. The timing of your registration could make a big difference.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1f53a.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64467\" style=\"width:22px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\"><strong><strong>High risk \u2013 Seek legal advice<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Anyone not covered by the above groups should speak with an attorney before registering. This includes those who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Entered without inspection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not have any active immigration processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a complex or unclear immigration history<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lawvm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1f91d.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-64476\" style=\"width:31px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em> <\/em><strong><strong>Our commitment to you<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Vergara Miller Law, your safety and future matter to us.
